Brand introduction

【Proteca / Protector】

"Protector" is a travel bag brand of a long-established bag manufacturer "Ace" in Japan.

Its origins start with the founder Shinigawa Yanagi's opening a shop "Shinigawa canyon shop" in Osaka · Tennoji in 1940.

In 1953, Shinkawa developed the bag which used the new material "East Rainiron" for fabric for the first time in Japan.

The bag that is colorful, light, strong, easy to get dirty popular has gained popularity, and it was told that "a big revolution of the bag".

This innovative spirit leads to the dream of "making a Japanese-made luggage not to beat the world" of "Ace".

In 1958, Shinkawa travels around the world for a trip to the world for market expansion and industry visit.

A three month trip over the US, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong.

Here, Shinkawa, who met America's luggage manufacturer "Samsonite Corporation", will start importing and selling suitcases.

And four years later, we began producing the first Japanese made suitcase "Debonair".

In 1963, changed its name to "Ace" Co., Ltd.

In 1971, a factory responsible for the production of suitcases was built in Akahei City, Hokkaido, and the production capacity increase system is in place.

As overseas travelers are increasing year by year, we sell Japanese suitcase "silhouette" with functionality that suits Japanese needs.

Since then, the "Ace" suitcase has evolved independently and is said to be the world's most advanced suitcase.

In 2004, "Ace" celebrated 41 years after producing suitcase in Japan, announced the new luggage brand "Proteka".

In addition, we started recycling suitcases that we had been doing since 2000 as a permanent project.

In response to the fact that the majority of unnecessary suitcases are disposed of as waste disposal as bulk garbage, we have independently built a recycling system and are working to reduce the environmental impact.

In 2015, Sato Oki, the representative of the world's most active design office nendo, became the Creative Director of 'Proteka'.

"Proteka" is headed for further stage in order to take over the genes "Ace" inherited from its foundation and to make traveling around the world more comfortable with a functional suitcase.
