wrong pencil holder can squeeze their pencil or press it too hard against sheet, or contract the muscles of their hand too much for too long, it will hurt their hand and possibly cramp or develop bumps on fingers (in addition to have a terrible calligraphy and poor efficiency in hand-writing).
