Gayo Mountain Coffee (Aceh Gayo)
Geographical area: Gayo highland, Central Aceh, Northern Sumatra. 1,000 m to 1,500 m altitude, fertile volcanic soil, wet climate, near to equator (north). Estimate annual production 30,000 – 40,000 ton of green beans. Type of processing: mostly wet process, wet hulling (smallholder) and small quantity wet process, dry hulling or fully wash process (big processor). Very good aroma and complex coffee flavor, good acidity and rich body. Mostly organic farming system under shade trees.-Ethnics: Gayonese, Javanese, others.
Lokasi Geografis berada dipegunungan Gayo, Aceh Tenggah di Utara Sumatra.Berada 1000m sampai 1,500m di atas Ketinggian permukaan laut. Berada di area tanah vulkanik yang subur, beriklim basah dan berdekatan dengan garis katulistiwa (utara). Mampu memproduksi 30,000-40,000 ton biji kopi hijau per tahun nya. Cara memprosesnya adalah dengan proses basah, pengulitan biji kopi oleh para petani untuk jumlah yang sedikit, dan proses kering untuk jumlah proses yang besar. Memiliki rasa dan aroma kopi yang komplek, kadar kasaman yang baik. Dengan system organic dan berada dibawah rimbunan pepohonan. Suku: Gayo, Jawa dll.
