Also bought a new monofin. The tail has already started to wear on both corners. You can see the protective strip through the material. This the second one that has worn through. However the first tail lasted a bit longer. She only uses it in a backyard pool occasionally. I even got the next size bigger thinking the first one may have been too small. She had followed the guidelines and this tail and fin will be in the trash by the end of the season. I feel disappointed for my daughter and by this company. Poor quality. I was surprised to see how easily she learned to use the fin. She has been a strong swimmer since the age of three and begged for a tail for a year straight before I agreed to get one for her 5th birthday. She has been swimming with it nearly everyday for the past three months and can swim just as well with it on than without. I would have given 5 stars except for these two things: 1) We need it to be made one size smaller! We had to buy a size 6 because that is the smallest they come, but definitely could have used a 4/5. 2) There are already holes in the tail near the end of the fin.
