Barley tea is a tisane made from roasted barley, popular in Japanese and Korean cuisine. It is also used as a caffeine free coffee substitute in American cuisine. In Japan, this tea is regarded as a cooling summer beverage, but in Korea it is served year-round, hot in winter and cold in summer.

BREWING DIRECTIONS:
Pour 8oz boiling water over 1 tea bag. Steep in cup 2 to 3 minutes or until desired strength of flavor. Remove tea bag and serve.

INGREDIENTS:
Roasted Barley

According to Japanese food conglomerate Kagome, a recent study stated that drinking barley tea increased blood fluidity. This action is caused by an alkylpyrazine, which is a primary flavor in the drink. Japanese believe it cleanses the blood of impurities.
