Upon the top of the great cathedral of Notre Dame are stone carved monsters of half-man and half-beast. These demon looking creatures are called 'gargoyles' come from the Latin word meaning gullet, or drain. These strange statues are in fact drainpipes, each with a passageway inside that carries rainwater from the roof and out through the gargoyle's mouth. Made 100% by hand, we loved the look of these art deco masterpieces and think they make great trinket boxes.
