It was a good way to get the family around the table together without a lot of parts or pieces and we were able to play a round in 15-20 minutes. Players take turns asking questions and the player who answers first receives points. You don't need to know sports statistics and history, the questions in Sports Blurt! are pretty basic about the sports themselves. Example: "The number of balls a batter can receive to walk to first base" (FOUR!) I like that it is a small card game that we can take with us and won't take up a lot of space when I store it. This would be fun to take along and answer the questions in the car or elsewhere without even keeping score. I agree with other reviews that the 10 and up age suggestion is correct, but my 7 & 8 year-olds joined in as team members with the rest of the family and still had a lot of fun "blurting" with us - and they even knew some of the answers!Written by a customer while visiting educationalinsights.comWas this review helpful?Yes (0)No (0)ReportFun and educational game that can travel5/14/2015Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews5/14/2015by marie c.This is a fun and educational game! My children, 8 and 10 both like this game. I did not know if my 8 year old would like it, or be able to play as the minimum age recommendation is 10 and up, but she had fun! And I was very surprised she had the answers to some sports question/lingo I had never even heard! They had fun playing together. My 10 year old is very interested in sports facts, and since I know nothing about sports, this is one way he can learn (and me too). It can also be hard to find toys for my 10 year old, so I was happy to find that this one fit the age and kept his attention. I also like the fact that the game is compact so I can bring it along on car rides and we can have something to do ! (My older child usually complains about being bored but now I have an antidote with Blurt!) The magnetic score board keeps the pieces together and its metal box keeps all the cards together.Written by a customer while visiting educationalinsights.comWas this review helpful?Yes (0)No (0)ReportBlurt Sports5/22/2015Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews5/22/2015by NewAgeMamaIt's hard to find games that older kids can enjoy, but Blurt is definitely a fun choice for tweens and teens. This particular version is Blurt Sports, and as the name implies, it's all about sports. The object of the game is to be the first to score 12 points. You accomplish this by being the first to guess the correct answers based on the definition you're given. You will need at least three players. One has to read the question while the others guess. Some questions are super easy, and others only more advanced sports fanatics will be able to answer. But whether you get the question right or wrong is only half the fun. "Blurting" out the answers is what makes this game a winner. It's even funnier when people rush to answer first and guess the wrong thing! This fast-paced game is lots of fun, easy to play, and quick and convenient to set up. It comes with 75 double-sided cards that stay organized in their cardholder. The magnetic scoreboard is on the inside of the metal case, and the player pieces stick to it nicely. This makes it a great game for the car as well as at home. Parents will have just as much fun playing this one as the
