It will happen when/if the blender load goes beyond the temperature limits of the motor windings or if several consecutive high loads are applied to the blender. This is normal and not a defect. If the blender smelled and would no longer operate, it is a very high probability that this is what happened. The first attached picture shows the protector and the second shows the location under the taped portion of the windings. The red arrows were part of a construction review where data was required for the plastic wire positioning devices to ensure proper ratings.Feature
