This 2 stage Counter Top Filtration system comes assembled with all the parts and connections necessary to use straight out of the box.
1st Stage - Fluoride/Arsenic is not generally removed through the filtration process, unless you use a specialized filter. It can be removed through reverse osmosis. To remove Fluoride/Arsenic, we use Activated Alumina, Activated alumina (AA) is the only filter material specifically designed to remove fluoride and arsenic from water. A ceramic compound made of aluminum oxide with a very high surface-area-to-weight ratio, AA has a very high capacity for fluoride adsorption. Most municipal water supplies add 2 ppm (parts per million) of fluoride. AA filters can reduce fluoride concentrations to below .1 ppm, or down to 99% of the normal fluoridated water level. If you are concerned about these contaminants in your water supply, this is the ideal low cost system for you.
2nd Stage - Carbon is a substance that has a long history of being used to absorb impurities and is perhaps the most powerful absorbent known to man. One pound of carbon contains a surface area of roughly 125 acres and can absorb literally thousands of different chemicals. Activated carbon which has a slight electro-positive charge added to it, making it even more attractive to chemicals and impurities. As the water passes over the positively charged carbon surface, the negative ions of the of the contaminants are drawn to the surface of the carbon granules. Activated carbon filters used for home water treatment typically contain either granular activated carbon or powdered block carbon. Although both are effective, carbon block filters generally have a higher contaminant removal ratio.
