I used a Hanes white tee- shirt which workout excellent. A picture is worth a 1000 words so here it is.Was this review helpful?Yes (2)No (1)ReportGreat for beginners, figure 10 shirts per kit4/25/2014Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews4/25/2014by Bari1 ?Verified purchaserI just used this kit for a class project and the results were fantastic, even though it was my first time. I figured 10 shirts per kit and that was about right. Directions are clear and easy to follow (especially liked the DVD), but we soaked the shirts first then tied them. Had enough rubber bands, but there is only 1 pair of gloves in the kit: if you're doing a group you'll need more gloves, and you can't have too many ziploc bags! Smocks are also a good idea. Did not need all the soda ash, but the packets are easily stored for future use. Bottle nozzles seemed to clog, so we ended up cutting off the tips. Don't forget to put newspaper or something on the floor as well! I also had them put their shirts on styrofoam plates to apply the dye, which helped contain the mess--the plates rinse off so 1 set got me through 4 classes. Was this review helpful?Yes (43)No (5)ReportPerfect, affordable kit9/30/2011Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews9/30/2011by SmartBuysforDummiesI never tie-dyed before, but I did this as a hall program for my dorm at school-- it was awesome! the kits came with simple instructions for beginners and DVD for people who wanted to try different techniques. The colors turned out vibrant, and the kit was easy to use. This is by far the best value!!Was this review helpful?Yes (67)No (2)Reporteasy to use7/8/2012Average rating:4out of5stars, based onreviews7/8/2012by starydiamondWas very easy to use. I had never tie-dyed before. Has everthing you need. Not quite enough for as many shirts as it says. I did 7 XL sized shirts, and that was not totally soaking them with the dye. Would definetly use this again. Was this review helpful?Yes (24)No (4)ReportI feel it was easy and a great value.12/5/2012Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews12/5/2012by Customer12344566 ?Verified purchaserDefinitely great for the beginner at tie dye.
