Facial gua sha therapy is a combination of traditional and modern medical science, based on traditional Chinese medicine. The core of traditional Chinese medicine is balance of yin and yang, nourishing yin and strengthening yang are the basis. Gua sha on whole body is to dump toxin of yin, and on face is to dump toxin of yang. All organs are linked to face, channels and collaterals are interlinked as well. Gua sha steps:

1. clean face and remove dead skin cells

This step is very important, in order to have a multiplier effect, you need use the cleanser cream to wash the face. We can also use brown sugar to remove dead skin cells. Put some brown sugar on left hand, then dip wet brown sugar with middle finger and ring finger of right hand, gently massage the face, do not massage so hard, so as not to scratch the skin. Skin around the eye is thin, do not massage over there. Massage forehead, nose, and chin a few times.

 

2. compress face with hot wet towel

You can also put hot water in the basin, hot steam the face to make pores open, and promote blood circulation.

 

3. daub massage oil

Apply olive oil or other vegetable oil with your finger on the face, and then gently press the skin with a warm hand.

 

4. start gua sha

Do not let gua sha tools leave the face, just gently scrape whole face. Dredge the waste accumulated in face out through lymphatic drainage.
