First Ever 4-in-1 App Enabled Pen: Moon Stones Callisto

Product Descriction

Callisto is a writing pen and more. Initial observations will show Callisto to be like an innocent, elegant writing pen. It’s size is similar to many writing pens in the market at 14.6 cm long and 1.35 cm in diameter. Rounded in shape and edges, it’s surface is smooth and sleek in the hands of a user. It is fairly lightweight, weighing at just less than 70 grams. What really shines about Callisto is hidden inside the pen itself.

Callisto is Bluetooth® 2.1 + EDR enabled product that comes with built-in noise cancellation DSP microchip, microphone and speaker. These capabilities transform the pen into a handsfree communication device with crystal clear sound. It synchronises with any mobile handphones via a standard HFP Bluetooth® protocol, to become a convenient, wireless handsfree device.

Users can fit the Callisto pen snugly into a shirt pocket and engage in a handsfree mobile conversation anywhere, such as inside a car while driving, or walking across a street while carrying shopping bags in both hands. In the package, Callisto comes along with a free genuine leather pen pouch and lanyard, giving users the option of wearing it around the neck in a smart and professional manner.

Other than handsfree capability, Callisto can playback music over the air like a portable wireless speaker. Any portable music player such as an iPod, or mobile handphone, which supports a standard A2DP Bluetooth® protocol, could stream music wirelessly to Callisto. The music will then be amplified across to the environment over Callisto's customised built-in single directional speaker.

Fitted with a 130mah rechargeable lithium ion battery, Callisto delivers a standby time of 10 hours, continuous talk time of 3 hours, or music streaming of 2 hours. The lithium ion battery is rechargeable via a standard USB cable, and is compatible for use with standard USB chargers in the market.

The list does not end there. Callisto has its own specially designed smartphone app for control and communication. The Callisto smartphone app comes under 2 platforms. iOS smartphone app supports iOS 4.3 and above for devices such as iPhones and iPads.

The integration of smartphone apps with electronics products has greatly changed the climate of the consumer market. We'll see more products with smartphone apps capability, and the Moon Stones Callisto is no exception. These new breed of products are here to stay, and they will drive the charge of new products into the future.

The smartphone app has audio recording capability, and transforms Callisto into a remote microphone and audio recorder, with it’s built-in advanced noise cancellation technology. The special DSP chip inside Callisto can be controlled using the smartphone app to toggle between optimal recording distances. This allows users to select recording modes based on the environments they were in. From Close Mode (0.1~0.5m) for close range conversation audio recording, to Near Mode (0.5~2m) for medium range meeting room recordings, and to Far Mode (2~6m) for far range seminar room recordings.

A user can record as many audio recordings as there are available memory storage space on the smartphone. After an audio record, the Callisto smartphone app has the functionality that allows the user to playback an audio record immediately. The audio record can also be edited to give it a meaningful title, additional comments, and can be easily retrieved via search and sort functions. Users have the option to allow the smartphone app to auto-detect the geolocation and address of where every audio recording has taken place.

As a unique product at a class of its own, Moon Stones Callisto has no comparable peers in the market. It is truly the first ever 4-in-1 app enabled pen, combining the capabilities of a writing pen, a wireless handsfree communicator, a portable speaker, and an audio recorder, bringing convenience and mobility all in one single device.
