PremioCafé specializes in the production and distribution of Indonesian Civet Coffee or locally known as Kopi Luwak. Civet coffee (kopi luwak) is widely noted as one of the most expensive coffees in the world. It originates from coffee cherries which are eaten by Asian Palm Civet (or Luwak in Indonesian term).  These Luwak (Paradoxurus Hermaphroditus) are native to South East Asia, especially Indonesia. They normally inhabit primary forests with some occupy selective logged forests.

Indonesia is one of the largest coffee producers in the world. PremioCafé is proud to present to you our high-grade quality coffee from Indonesia. More than 90% of Indonesian Arabica coffee is grown by coffee plantation owners in Sumatra and on which 90% of the outputs are being exported. Our civet coffees (kopi luwak) are all being processed organically in Indonesia’s Sumatra Island and shipped to you fresh. Of all the other regions, Sumatra is renowned for its largest production of civet coffee (kopi luwak).

Our Commitment

Civets’ existences are being threatened by natural disasters and human interventions on their habitats. In some areas, civets are considered nuisance because they litter in the ceilings and make loud noises fighting and moving around at night. Due to that, a lot of civets are being poisoned to death. Some societies also believe that civet’s meat is effective to cure asthma. Hence, it is being hunted for its meats for traditional medical purpose or as food sources.

PremioCafé is committed to preserve the existence of civets (luwak) for the sake of providing authentic civet coffee (kopi luwak) to all coffee lovers in the world. With the natural ecosystem and conservation of our coffee plantations, we are able to preserve the greatness of civet coffee (kopi luwak) while delivering the rare and extraordinary coffee taste to all of you.

Our coffee beans are being gathered, hand collected from the nature of our coffee plantations in Sumatra. Sumatra is the world’s largest regional producer of civet coffee (kopi luwak). Our civets are neither farmed nor caged. They are free to move in the wild. As such, our production of civet coffee indeed involves a great deal of human labor. The small production quantity and high labor works involved in the gathering and production contribute to the coffee’s high cost. On top of that, it also highly depends on harvest seasons of coffee cherries, the scale of the coffee plantations and population of the civets (luwak).

Your support will directly assist us in maintaining the civets (luwak) conservation and prevent its extinction. At the same time while supporting the wild civet conservation, you are able to enjoy the most expensive coffee in the world from the comfort of your home.

Important Information

Blended civet coffee is not 100% pure civet coffee

Authentic civet coffee (kopi luwak) produces wonderful aftertaste that is unbeatable by other types of coffee. Please take note when buying blended civet coffee. Blended civet coffee could come with only 1% of civet coffee (kopi luwak) mixed with other types of coffee. Certainly, blended civet coffee is far much cheaper than 100% pure civet coffee (kopi luwak). You would expect the blended civet coffee to taste poorer than original 100% civet coffee (kopi luwak).

Cheap civet coffee

Due to the fact that the production of civet coffee is very limited, pure civet coffee does not come cheap. Do not trust in cheap civet coffee.

Caged civets

At PremioCafé, we only source civet coffee from wild civets. Our civets are neither caged nor farmed. The civets are free to move in the wild and hence with its natural instincts, they are able to choose the ripest coffee cherries for consumptions. As a result, we are able to produce the highest quality of civet coffee (kopi luwak) with exceptional smoothness and incredible taste.

Packaging

Our coffees are packed in packaging that comes with one-way degassing valve and resealable zipper. Fresh coffee generates large quantity of carbon dioxide. One-way degassing valve can prevent the intrusion of external air, but simultaneously releases the air from the packaging to keep the coffee fresh and full of flavor. The packaging expulses the oxygen out hence it does not allow bacteria and mildew to develop on the coffee. On top of that, the tight-locking resealable zipper allows you to seal the coffee package; providing you the peace of mind in keeping your coffee freshness after the pouch is open. Our packaging has made it easier for you to keep your coffee fresh and free from contamination.
