Let's talk about some of the safety and sanitation recommendations that you will want to keep in mind to prevent contamination and keep your skin healthy and blemish free

* Before using any of the tools, ensure that each is disinfected by soaking them in boiling water or rubbing alcohol for 2 to 5 minutes, this will help to remove any bacteria or debris that may cause to skin concerns

* It's important to cleanse your prior to using the extraction tools, wash your skin with a gentle cleanser, preferably one that contains natural ingredients, and rinse with cool water, pat your skin dry gently with a soft towel, so as not to irritate the pores, also wash your hands thoroughly, as you will be handling the tools directly and won't want to spread and bacteria through cross contamination

* Steam your face to open the pores as much as possible before using the extractors, you can do this by placing your face over a bowl of hot water, with a towel over your head to trap the steam, alternatively you can dip a washcloth in warm water and place it directly on your face, ensuring that the comedones are fully covered by the washcloth, steam the skin for 5 to 10 minutes.

* During the blemish removal treatment, be sure to wipe away any drainage with a clean cotton pad or sterile cloth, and use a separate pad or cloth for each comedone to avoid the spread of bacteria

* Once you have finished the extraction process, rinse your face with cool water and apply some astringent and or antiseptic cream to the area around the pores, this will help to remove any excess pore drainage and reduce the risk of bacteria infection
