Studio : Shimano Publisher : Shimano Product Description The virtues of a single-ring mountain bike drivetrain setup have been amply demonstrated in the last few years, and so it's no surprise that Shimano has decided to take a crack at it. The Shimano XTR M9000 1x Chainring is what you'll want to bolt onto your crank arms to enjoy that sweet single-ring goodness, with a flavor of refinement and precision that only Shimano can deliver. The chainrings for the M9000 group received just as much attention as did the crank arms themselves when the rest of the XTR group was redesigned. Like the crank arms, the rings are also hollow to save weight, but their rigidity has only increased over the last-generation XTR rings, thanks in part to a revolutionary carbon-reinforced titanium-alloy construction. The single-ring teeth are made of stainless steel and are taller and fatter than the teeth on the double- and triple- ring designs, and also feature a "hooked" leading edge design, all in the name of superior chain retention so it won't drop, no matter how gnarly the terrain. The Shimano XTR M9000 1x Chainring is available with 30, 32, 34, and 36 teeth. It is designed explicitly for use with Shimano's new XTR M9000 cranksets and the new M9000 11-speed drivetrain platform, and will only work properly with the associated crank arms and SIL-TEC chain. 0
