Why a BASS BLOCKER? Bass Blockers are installed very simply by connecting one end to the positive lead on your speaker and the other side to the positive lead wire. Nothing is done to the negative side. BASS BLOCKERS are installed to give your mobile audio application its final touch. It stops your speakers from "bottoming out" (bass distort from loud volume.. the cone hitting the enclosure). Perhaps too much power is going to your front or rear speakers after an amplifier install. It is common sense that you want your speaker box to do all the "bass work" and your surround full range front/rear speakers to do exactly that, provide full range sound. (mid, highs) Installed correctly, these allow you to turn your full range speakers up without distortion. IMPORTANT!
