Jarrow Formulas Resveratrol contains 100 mg of resveratrols (3,4'',5-trihydroxystilbenes) and resveratrol glucosides (piceids) extracted from Hu zhang (''tiger cane'') root. Polygonum extracts have a history of usage in traditional eastern medicine as cardiotonics.
Jarrow Formulas Resveratrol provides approximately 90% resveratrol in the active trans configuation.
As an antioxidant, resveratrol protects cardiovascular function by inhibiting LCL oxidation, upregulating nitric oxide synthesis, and the integrity of capillaries.*
Resveratrol has also been studied for its ability to activate Phase 2 detoxification enzymes to maintain healthy cell replication.
