I did not like how the outside of the comforter felt. It was not soft and felt rough and hard and it was too shiny. The inside was very soft and comfortable. I was looking for a lightweight comforter but this is more like a medium weight and I woke up in the middle of the night hot and sweaty. I have a California king bed and the other comforter I bought was skimpy in length and width. This dust ruffle is perfectly sized to fit a king bed and was folded so well, it did not need ironing. The comforter was oversized so it more than covered my mattress, with a good amount of overhang in width and length. I used a warm iron to press out a few wrinkles and folds from packaging, directly on the bed and by the way, even the bag it was all shipped in was good quality woven material, instead of all plastic? The brown color on the reverse side is a warm chocolate brown, so when folding this reverse side down when the bed is made adds interest and versatility and really gives the pillows a pow! I would have liked the blue to be a little darker to match the drapes I purchased from another company but the color is great on it's own. My husband loves it also, since the plaid adds the feel of both masculinity and femininity to the room. The European shams herring bone quilting is gorgeous and the backing material allowed the pillows to flip in easily. Most of these pillows are hard to slip into the cover without worrying about tearing the seam, so kudos to the designer of this set. It would have been more tailored if the regular shams had a piping as opposed to the brown trim that flaps over instead of staying up. My last comment is about the throw pillows. There are only 2 pillows with this set. There should have been three to create balance. Either 2 square pillows with 1 rectangle or 1 square with 2 rectangle pillows. All in all I am glad I made this purchase. It's more than what I expected for the price and I would highly recommend this manufacturer.
