Feature:
Monkey Face flower perennial herb, 30-40 cm high. The stalks are thick, hollow and take root at the roots.
The leaves are opposite, oval, nearly equal in length and width, and narrow in the upper part.
Sparse racemes, inflorescences right in leaf axils, funnel-shaped, yellow, flowers with two lips, two or three split, flowering usually from May to October with purple patches or spots.
The seed is small, and the corolla background color of the cultivar is different shades of yellow, with red, purple and brown spots of various sizes and shapes.
Growing environment
Monkey face like cold weather, more resistant to cold, but can not be frozen, afraid of high temperature, resistant to half shade, bogey water, winter can withstand 2 °C low temperature.
Wet, well-lit, well-drained sandy loam, flowering from April to May.
