The History of the Product: Notably, the first question that everyone asked was “How is this different from the previous one?”
- 2002: Water Sleeping Pack
- 2005: Water Sleeping Pack PLUS (improved moisturising effect + skin vitality)
- 2009: Water Sleeping Pack EX (improved moisturising effect + skin brightening + improves the quality of sleep using neuroscience concept)
- 2015: Water Sleeping Mask (this product)
This new version applies several new technologies, but essentially means that with it, your skin is moisturised, rehydrated, revitalised, and makes your skin as good as it would have been had you gotten the full 8 hours of sleep. Plus, the SleepScent technology helps you get a good night’s sleep.
The Packaging: It still comes in the easily-recognisable blue tub, but this one has a frosted matte-finish exterior with angled edges (vs the previous version that had rounded corners and a glossy finish). The shade of blue is more muted too. That said, it’s the usual twist-open cap tub, and comes with a spatula for hygienic product usage. The mouth of the tub is wide enough for you to stick your fingers in (perhaps to wipe up the last remaining amounts when it’s finishing).
The Scent: It has a wonderful scent that isn’t overwhelming – even when I shove it straight to my nose and take a deep whiff. It is said to be formulated so that it relaxes and soothes your mind (aromatherapy), and subsequently gives you a good night’s sleep. I LOVE.
The Texture: It’s a gel product that’s super lightweight. It spreads easily on the skin, bathing your skin in immediate hydration. It’s absorbed quickly. In terms of residue, I noted that when I tried it on the back of the hand at the Gala Dinner launch, it left a little bit of a sticky residue BUT when it’s on the face, it doesn’t leave any residue whatsoever. I’m guessing this is because of the facial skin composition (pores, sebum glands etc).
