She enjoyed being able to build it more than one way. The booklet was also very helpful in guiding her on how to put it together. There are many features including the dolls that have joints. This kept her busy and she enjoyed it. She is a huge American Girl fan (we have three of the dolls), and was very excited to see the line of American Girl Mega Construx sets. This was the first one she got, and we got to work on it right away. She did nearly all of the work on it, but I was there to help. She did the little "Day in Paris" part first, with the "Holiday Hotel" part being done the next morning. The set is absolutely beautiful and very detailed. I did make several observations (listed below) while she worked on it.Here are my observations:-The pieces in all of the little bags were nearly organized. My daughter is somewhat of a perfectionist, and preferred this because she separates the pieces in clear containers when she sets up to work on any sort of construction blocks project.-The instructions booklet was wonderful! It's very detailed with pictures of what the pieces look like, and of each step involved. The steps are numbered, making it very easy to follow. It offers the builder tips throughout as well. My daughter tends to get frustrated easily with most instructions after awhile, and she didn't with this. She didn't get overwhelmed by these at all. I was expecting to have to help her with the instructions, and she never needed me.-The only trouble we ran into was that some of the smaller flat topped pieces were very hard to snap together. I had to help her with some, and there was one that I wasn't able to get snapped myself. It took her grandfather fiddling around with it to get the pieces to snap. The flat topped pieces were the only ones to give any trouble.-The pieces are easy to take apart for reassembly. These were the easiest pieces I've ever had to take apart. She didn't need me to help, but the ones I did do were very easy (and I say this as a mom who has helped with many of these style sets).Both parts were very cute and very detailed when finished. My daughter said they reminded her of the movie very much. The little details were perfect and really did capture the feeling of the movie.The characters (Grace and Sylvie) are very cute, and have a good range of motion. I like that the set comes with both girl, making this set great for play dates or for allowing more ways for the child to enjoy playtime. The set is so detailed and will be enjoyed by anyone who plays with it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves Mega Construx or American Girl.
