4. Operation · Principle of operation As the cuff pressure is gradually pressurized, a pulsation with heartbeat synchronized with pressure appears.

The beginning of this pulsation begins to be small, it increases with pressurization, eventually it shows a maximum amplitude, then becomes a mountain pattern that decreases again.

In the oscillometric blood pressure monitor, the amplitude waveform information of the pulsation component and the cuff pressure are analyzed with a microcomputer, and the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure are decided.
