The DWL-G730AP Wireless Pocket Router/AP from D-Link is a portable device that can be used as a wireless Internet router, access point or wireless client. It is designed for professionals who often travel and require wireless access in hotel rooms and conference rooms. The device can be configured as an access point to create a wireless connection, a router to share an Internet connection or as a wireless client to access an existing Wi-Fi network. Multiple Modes of Operation
The device can function as an access point, router or wireless client. Router mode allows an Internet connection to be shared among several computers equipped with Wi-Fi. In Access Point mode, the device can create a wireless network in a room where only a single Ethernet port is available. The Wireless Client mode allows a laptop to connect to an existing wireless network without additional software installation.
USB Powered
This portable device can be powered via USB. This allows you to use it along with a notebook computer without the need for a power outlet. A standard AC power cable is also included to provide flexible power options.
54Mbps Speed
The 802.11g protocol allows for data rates of up to 54Mbps when used with other 802.11g devices. The router is also fully backwards compatible with the older 11Mbps 802.11b protocol.
