In 1790, YOROZUYA Hachigoro established this brewery at its the current location and marketed "Ichiriki-Masamune.”  In 1933, celebrated poets Tekkan Yosano and his wife Akiko, with whom the 6th head of the family had a friendship through a literary exchange, stayed overnight at the brewery when they were traveling along the Kai Road and "Shunnoten” at that time.
