Indications

Cica-Care is designed for use:

• in the management of both existing and new hypertrophic and keloid scars (red and raised)
• as a preventative therapy on closed wounds to prevent hypertrophic and keloid scars (red and raised)

Instruction for Use

• Wash your hands before use and then gently clean the scar and surrounding skin with a mild soap and rinse in clean warm water. Thoroughly dry the area before applying Cica-Care. Remove gel sheet from tray
• Cut the sheet to the size of the scar - allowing a little overlap all the way round.  Store the remaining gel sheet in a dry place, like the tray the gel came in. Remove the printed plastic sheet to reveal the adhesive.
• Apply Cica-Care, adhesive side down, to the scarred area without stretching the strip. (If your scar is in an awkward position you may wish to use a light bandage or tape to keep Cica-Care in position.  Do not hold the gel sheet too tightly to the skin as this may cause irritation of the scar and surrounding area.)
• For first two days use Cica-Care for 4 hours per day. For next two days use Cica-Care for 8 hours per day. Continue to increase wear time by 2 hours per day until a minimum of 12 hours per day is reached.  If possible Cica-Care should be worn 24 hours per day.
• Wash Cica-Care twice daily with a mild soap and rinse in clean warm water. Dry the Cica-Care strip with a non-fluffy towel before re-applying. Ensure the scar and surrounding area is washed too.
• When Cica-Care begins to wear or cleaning is difficult, it should be replaced.  This usually occurs after 14~28 day intervals. When used correctly the best results are seen after 2~4 months.

Caution

• The gel sheet must be cleaned daily
• Do not use on open or infected wounds
• Do not use on skin currently affected by acne
• Store in a cool, dry place (< 25°C)
