The product is very durable with a metal casing surrounded by high quality hard plastic and rubber, and so can easily withstand many drops. The tape measure extends to the most standard used length of 5m, 16 foot, and the tape is 19 mm in width. The nylon cladding blade allows more wear and corrosion resistance, five times life compared with normal nylon. Extension stiffness without bending can be up to 7 feet.

The most important feature is the self lock mechanism which prevents the tape from retracting. Two buttons on the front side and front rear allow easy access to release the tape. The button can be released at any time to maintain the lock.
