When I first turned it on, it was loud. Maybe this is how it is supposed to sound but it the sound resembles as an electric shaver. I have waxed my armpits and they are quick pain but the epilator feels like little tiny pinches. It did not hurt for me when I did my armpit. Although it states for leg use, I used it for my upper lip. I teared up a bit since they were thin hair and also paused here and there. Like how it is not battery operated. For my bikini area, I paused to give myself some time of relief. My entire body feels smooth. The epilator is really effective in removing hairs. I can see the root of the hair that I pulled out. Definitely recommend. Was this review helpful?Yes (121)No (28)ReportHurts a lot initially but very effective10/30/2012Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews10/30/2012by Lysh23 ?Verified purchaserWell this is my very first epilator, I've had it about a week and a half, used it once. It hurts really bad initially but the pain isn't lingering. It's very time consuming if you're as skirmish as I am; I do a little section then wait a few seconds. It helps to think about something else besides what you're doing though. It pulls the hair out from the root hence hair growth isn't as quickly as opposed to using other hair removal methods such as Nair. I used it on Saturday, today is Monday and there is no visible hair growth, usually I'd see the hair the very next morning. A plus in my book. Was this review helpful?Yes (91)No (20)ReportWorks alright6/3/2015Average rating:3out of5stars, based onreviews6/3/2015by KimPThis product works great for what I would expect at this price point. It is my first epilator though I have had a few waxing experiences in which to compare to as well. For the cost this product it beats the cost of waxing services. Drawback is that it does not do well on fine hair. I have darker hair on my ankles which works but the rest of my legs have blonde finer hair that I don't think it can do a good job pulling hair out at the root- I think hair breaks off more often. Also being a small model (fewer tweezer heads) it takes a long time to do your legs. I was unwilling to spend the money on a nicer model at this time so that's why I'm ok with dealing with the drawbacks. The pros are that since it is smaller it can fit in smaller areas. It does a great job at all courser hair and a huge pro in comparison to waxing is the hair does not have to be grown out as long (hurts more if you let it grow as long as you'd need it for waxing). therefore it does a fantastic job on the bikini area and underarms. I think I may have a few more ingrown hairs than with waxing but that really dependent on proper exfoliation. Overall I'm pleased with the product. Discomfort diminishes with time. You need to experiment a little to learn the best way for hair removal (such as direction of hair growth vs which way to face epilator; hair length; how to pull skin taught especially where it is looser for pain reasons and so looser skin can't get rolled up into epilator which is more startling than painful despite how it sounds). To address the pain concerns: I find it kinda ridiculous for people to rate epilators in general at a one or two star solely on the pain they experienced. Ser
