Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Moisture Review

Hello Beautifan readers! My name is Dhadha G. and I blog at Classy Sweets. Here’s a review of Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Moisture which I made for Ibuybeauti.

I’m quite the sucker for beauty products but not every item is to my liking. Only a few suits my rather dry, sensitive skin and I’ve been a loyal user ever since I’ve tried them. I’m sure most of us have stumbled upon a brand that stands out. Popular Korean skincare brandLaneige does this for me.

Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Moisture

I still remember the first Laneige item I bought from a local online store and this was the Moisture Care Miniature Set which includes the Power Essential Skin Refiner, Balancing Emulsion, Water Bank Essence, and Water Sleeping Pack_Ex.

Among these products, the Power Essential Skin Refiner and Balancing Emulsion made the most impression. So much so that I discarded my old toner and moisturizer and instead made them a part of my daily skin care regimen.

The Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Moisture is a toner which should be used after cleansing and before moisturizing. It comes in an attractively strong, high quality plastic case which has a reflective screw-on and off cap. Although the packaging is simple yet chic, I’d prefer a pump to go with it rather than a cap, much like the Laneige Balancing Emulsion. This way dispensing would be easier.

Women with dry to normal skin can use this one. It hydrates and absorbs onto the skin well so it’s really suited for my dry skin. I love that it leaves this cool sensation after use which makes my face feeling refreshed as well as soft, clean, and completely moisturized. Furthermore, it doesn’t have that irritating alcohol smell, only this pleasant scent.

The Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Moisture is packed with delicate yet super effective ingredients such as Royal Jelly which contains Vit. B5, Complex-B, AAs, and fatty acid essential for youthful looking skin. It also has Keratinase and Aminocoat which provide hydration, smoothens the skin’s texture, and gives glowingly clear skin.

Some might be taken aback with its quite expensive price but if you buy it from online stores such as iBuyBeauti, it’s way cheaper since it sells at a discounted price. But honestly, I don’t mind that it’s expensive since I assure you that it’s really effective.

Anyhow, it comes in 200ml which is good for five months of regular use (which I think is a long time). It’s money well spent. The Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Moisture is by far the best toner/skin refiner I’ve ever used. Never have I experienced any breakouts and skin irritation. I love it and it’s definitely at the top of my list of skincare must-haves.

Refreshing skin refiner with purifying and softening effect for clear skin

200ml Day, Night Oily, Combination Skin

REVIEW: LANEIGE POWER ESSENTIAL SKIN REFINER LIGHT

Hello~ Today I'll be doing another Laneige review - The Laniege Skin Refiner Light! . The toner/lotion (Asian brands tend to call their toners: lotions)

Searching for the perfect toner is a chore, especially if your skin is sensitive to every. single. product. (Well 95%) Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Light is part of their Basic Care range.  Their “light” products are suited for people with combination/oily skin.

What is it? (Taken from the Laneige website)

Refreshing skin refiner with purifying and softening effect for clear skin.

- Eliminates impurities in the pores, and removes keratin for clear and transparent skin.  - Bio Dusali, extracted from fermented seaweed with strong energy of life, supplies energy to the skin and promotes keratin turnover, while the Hyacinth extracts purify the skin from heavy metal, smog, and other harmful materials to leave the skin moist and transparent.  - Niacinamide helps for brightened skin tone with keratin care. Cotton extracts prevents skin damage to refine oily and dull skin for clear and healthy skin

It contains Mineral water to allow optimum moisture reabsorption.

Packaging:

For toners, I prefer a see-though bottle so I can see how many product I have left. Maybe it’s just me, but I love novelty packaging. Before, Laneige used to use glass for their toners, which lots of people objected but they have now changed to a hard plastic, so you won't have to worry about dropping it! I have to admit, Laneige has some of the best and convenient packagings.

How to use:

I usually apply 2 drops of the lotion to a cotton pad. This would be enough for your entire face. There are 200mls in the product.

Review:

Laneige is one of the most popular Asian brands. Being an Asian brand fanatic, I just had to buy some of their products (I own their water sleeping pack and multi-cleanser along with the toner). Seeing numerous positive reviews, I have urged myself to try it  One thing I have to say is that Laneige is definitely not for you if you have acne-prone skin. It is perfect for people who have normal skin because they focus more on hydration and whitening. Intially, I wanted to purchase their Acne line, but they discontinued it. I bought this product around one year ago and I’ve been using it on and off. The intial uses were great, I had no breakouts and I felt like my skin was plumper and radiant. So I was disappointed when I started breaking out after a while.   Laneige are just one of the brands that do not work for me.

Note: In Asian skincare, the steps go like this (There is around 18 steps!, but I've summarised it)

Cleanse, double cleanse, toner/lotion, serum, essence, moisturizer, eyecream.

I give this product 3/5. It just didn’t work for me, but it might work for you.

(A/N: I did not double check this, because I'm multitasking like crazy. Who else is an Inspirit here? DID YOU SEE INFINITE'S COMEBACK?! YOUTUBE : THE CHASER.)

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!~~

[REVIEW] Laneige Power Essential Sensitive Skin Refiner & Balancing Emulsion

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you’re all enjoying this Deepavali-in lieu off-day!

Today, I will be reviewing three products! Two of the products will be reviewed here in this post, and the third one would be done on a separate post here!

The two products for review here today are the second and third step of my morning daily facial care regime – Laneige Power Essential Sensitive Skin Refiner and Laneige Power Essential Sensitive Skin Emulsion.

I guess you would have figured out by now, my entire facial regime is based on Laneige products – that’s because I believe that they really do work well for my skin. I had noticed (after many years of suffering while trying to search for products that suit my skin, that I seem to be a lot more sensitive to american-based facial care – which has lead me to suffer from severe acne and hypersensitive itchy skin ><)

For those who are first time readers, Laneige is a popular facial care and cosmetics brand located in Korea. Under the company of Amore Pacific, Laneige prides itself in using the science of water to produce their best-selling products. Laneige means “snow” in French and is the result of intense research into hydration technology.

[REVIEW FOR SENSITIVE SKIN REFINER]

The words on the clear bottle says: “Soothing skin refiner with detoxifying and anti-stress effect for healthy skin.”

Now doesn’t that sound ly clarifying? :D

Instructions for use (taken from the Laneige website):

(one tip: if your cotton pad appears brown – dirt/makeup, if your cotton pad appears gray – dead skin cells)
2. Gently apply as lightly wiping out from inside to outside

(Alternatively, you can shake a few drops in the palms of your hands and pat the liquid on your face – Korean refiners work for a different purpose from European/American toners)

[REVIEW FOR SENSITIVE SKIN EMULSION]

Product Benefits (taken from the Laneige website):

-Enhances weak skin barrier to protect the skin, and its mild texture soothes sensitive skin with fragrance-free, alcohol-free and color-free system.

Instructions for use (taken from the Laneige website):

1. Dispense appropriate amount after skin refiner every morning and evening.
2. Gently apply as lightly wiping out from inside to outside

SUMMARY OF REVIEW:

My thoughts: Prior to using the Sensitive series, I was using their Light series which I still found to be a lot better in terms of absorption and oil control. :) But this could be considered for those who have more concerns over sensitivity than oily skin! I use these products at least once daily (at night) and twice (once in the morning, once at night) if I’m heading to school/heading out that day. Taking my previous usage of Laneige Light series as a gauge (they’re the same sizes for the refiners and emulsio
