I don't know if it's just me, but the angle of the inner rim of the frame makes it look like a light gold color compared with the rest of the frame. It makes the frame look two-tone. When you look close, though, you can see it's silver. The two-tone look is fine with me, and I think it looks better than just solid silver. A review of another clock mentioned loud ticking. You can hear this clock tick, too, but I don't think it's too loud.
