In Az this is a good lightweight blanket for summer nights with AC going. Use a fleece in winter. Of course, put immediately in the washer before putting on bed. It also had an odd odor like spoiled milk. Well 5 hours later I am still cleaning lint from washer and dryer. It has shed its fibers like no blanket I have ever had. As soon as dry back to Walmart with what is left of the blanket and the shedding for refund. Seriously there is enough lint to make a whole other blanket. Also discovered it plugged up the drain line from washer so my husband has been taking care of that this afternoon. Weird some say none and others say tons. As others have said, there is a tremendous amount of lint on the first couple of washes. That was true with the first blankets I got as well. It does diminish with each successive wash and certainly wasn't a deal breaker for me.These are nice sturdy blankets that hold up to cat claws very well. I can't use any blankets that are synthetic fabric, so I layer these a lot in the winter in a very cold bedroom and they work great. I've had my first two of these blankets for over a year now and they still look great even with being washed very frequently. The blue isn't quite as blue as it seems in the photo - it's more of a light sky blue. Feels like burlap. And as others stated, sheds gobs of lint, over 1/2 inch thick on the dryer filter, even though I washed it several times. The Full/Queen size is large and gives the kids plenty of blanket to snuggle up in during family movie nights. Once washed, it was very soft as well. HOWEVER, previous reviewers are 100% correct. This blanket is stiff, smells horrible when removed from the package, and when cleaning shed like a furry dog in spring, leaving debris in both the washer and dryer.You'll need to clean out your washer after running the blanket through the cycle. I used my hands to clean out the washer tub and removed lots of weird, wet, papery type of debris. Some of this debris still remained on the blanket after washing and once dried became lint in the dryer.You'll need to clean out the dryer's lint trap several times while drying this blanket. Do not wait until the drying cycle is done to clean the lint trap or you may end up with clogs in the dryer vent. I dried two blankets at once and had to clean the lint trap three times. It was full every time.BUT
