I like Norelco, I've been using their products for 20+ years and have always been pleased with them. The Body Groom is excellent and I highly recommend it. When mine finally died I thought I'd just pickup one of these to do a little light yard maintenance. This thing chokes on my arm hair, let alone hair on any other part of my body. I tried both trimmer guards, and even with no trimmer guard, wet hair, dry hair. It works just enough to get you to commit to a stroke, then chokes and suddenly you are ripping hair out rather than shaving or trimming them off.

In short, buy Norelco, just not this one. And Norelco, if you read this, shame on you, you know this thing is a piece of junk, stop diluting your brand for a quick buck.

I thought this wouldn't give me bumps, but it was wishful thinking. I am African-American and I never could shave due to getting bumps, I was hoping this would help. Genital areas I've got the same thing even using the product in the water.

I did read several of the negative reviews but decided to try this anyway because there was so many positive reviews. Well, I should have listened to the negative reviews. This was by war the worst product I e ever used for personal grooming. It grabs hair, and you have to go over the same area MULTIPLE ones before it is cleanly shaved.

I'm on an extended trip and traveling with only 2 battery powered travel razors. They do well generally, but not on the jaw line, under the jaw and the neck. I bought this in the hope it will do the areas the razors aren't and it is doing a 5-star job. I have a more expensive one at home, but don't need it now that I have this. All the places the razor misses are taken care of with this inexpensive trimmer.

I don't understand why the maker stresses using it below the neck. I wouldn't use it as a regular razor, but for spots the razor misses, it is great.

I never knew I could have a close shave without having to break out the razor and cream! Been using for at least a week now, keeping my "area" nice and tidy, and couldn't be happier. Trims so nice and close without causing ingrown hairs. Took a bit of time to initially get "cleaned up" but now the twice-weekly maintenance keeps me feeling so nice. Also love that it can be used in the shower!

Love it, it got all pump up to trim ( something I procrastinate ). Really enjoy it.

Caution : I try it in my beard and it pull my hair and it hurts like $---. But in body hair not even a tiny pull.

Oh I used the large screen, and got the trim down look I wanted , haven't used the small screen .

For men, the Bodygroom 1100 is an excellent compliment to one of the bigger models like the Bodygroom 3100 (which my husband uses regularly) or 7100 (which we bought for our teen). The trimming head on the 1100 is smaller like a disposable razor, and it fits and glides more easily in smaller contoured areas, such as under the arms and in the private parts area. The 1100 has a protective guard that prevent cuts and it can be swapped with a little comb attachment to trim hair to 1/8". My husband and I have been using the 1100 a couple weeks and neither of us have been nicked or cut. All models, including the 1100, can be used wet or dry, but my husband and I agree they all work best on dry skin pulled taut. Unlike other models, the 1100 doesn't have a rechargeable battery and instead runs on one AA battery (included).

I don't recommend the 1100 as a substitute for the 3100 or 7100 because it has less power and such a small trimming head, so it would take too much time and effort for whole body grooming (unless you hardly have any body hair). The 3100 and 7100 are far more powerful and have bigger trimming heads to shave or trim larger and hairier areas better and faster. But the 1100 is perfect for smaller areas that are delicate or contoured (like arm pits and private parts), and my husband finds it more comfortable and efficient to use the 1100 in those areas as the 3100 is larger and harder to maneuver due to its overall size and trimming head size (though it does work). It's easier to trim underarm hair to a more even length with the 1100.
