The shape and fit of the shoe is masterfully designed to help you stay in the perfect stance and have the right support and traction in every position. The upper construction is made of a strong yet highly-flexible super-suede Escaine that is laid out in a way that helps the shoe conform to your foot as you move, without any discomfort or pinching. Instead of a traditional tongue, the EVO uses ASICS’ Mono-Sock Fit System in an internal sleeve that molds perfectly to your foot like a sock and offers unbeatable comfort.

The outer side of the Mono-Sock bootie is covered with a double-layer mesh that’s durable, lightweight, and breathable to help keep you cool. On the back, you’ll notice a handy little flap that allows you to easily slip your feet into the bootie before you lace everything up.

After you’ve looped, swooped, and pulled, you can safely tuck your perfectly tied knot into the new and improved Lace Garage. The Lace Garage complies with all competition rules about securing your laces, and won’t leave your wrestling partner with any annoying Velcro scratches.

History of ASICS

In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan.
He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body."
