Examples of prominent frauds: Ultrafire 18650
1. The ultrafire series of batterries all have fraudulent capacity rating. Example, on testing of the ultra fire 18650 8000mAH. It only resulted in a 1950mAH total capacity.
2. The highest known capacity rating known to man in 18650 shell is the Sanyo-Panasonic 3600mah battery.
3. No battery company in china is capable of producing a 18650 cell with higher then 2400mah capacity. If you see any value above this, its 100% a fake and a fraud.
4. If you are unconvinced, make a trip down to our office in UBI and bring your 18650 batterries for free testing of their actual value.
How is the 18650 tested?
1. Charged to full capacity at 4.2v or 4.35v dependant on model.
2. Discharged at 1A until auto cut off with default at 3v or until 2.5v for specific Sanyo models.
3. Identify auto cut voltage of battery
4. Measure averaged internal resistance during course of discharge
5. Obtain total dischaged capacity value.
