It is 100% plastic and man made materials, but doesn't look "cheap" until you actually touch it and realize it's not wood.I ripped the arms off though because I wanted to use it as a frame for an exotic piece of Brazilian artwork that I had. A round frame like this was going to cost me around $150+ and we just couldn't afford that right now.It looks absolutely stunning in the room and the frame is a nice accent. We are happy with our purchase! I looked all over for a large wall clock and couldn't find one for under 200 dollars, or one that I even liked. I was so surprised walmart carried such a gorgeous item at such a low price.
