Unlike many other sources of fish oil, Alaska Pollock is caught for human consumption. Fresh caught fish are filleted, frozen, and processed within hours onboard factory vessels or at shore plants. Then our fish oils are shipped from Alaska to our FDA registered manufacturing facility in Coshocton, Ohio in airtight oxygen barrier containers.
At our Ohio refinery, we combine fish oil with food grade ethanol to make fatty acid ethyl esters. This allows Omega-3 fatty acids to be separated from saturated fatty acids that we don't want. Our cold extraction and further concentration results in up to 85% Omega-3 yield. We then use a molecular distillation process that removes fishy odors and taste, resulting in extremely fresh oil.
Our final step is to carbon filter the fresh, concentrated Omega-3 fish oil to remove any PCB's, chlorinated organ pollutants, and toxic heavy metals. We then encapsulate our fish oil into easy-to-swallow softgels, bottle it up, and insert into post-consumer content product cartons.
