This is the rating of the tents level of waterproof coating means that it can cope with a medium rain fall (so more than a light shower but not prolonged heavy rain). Milestone would recommend anyone who wants a higher level of protection or think that there is a chance that they may need a higher level where they are going, to apply an additional waterproofing coating. To get the most life and enjoyment out of your tent it is also recommended to reproof including seam re-sealing as required and depending on how frequently you use the tent.
