Installation Tips as per Manufacturer
1. Begin by using a 1/8'' drill bit to pre-drill a pilot hole for your deck screws. Drill deep enough to penetrate deck board and underlying joist material.
2. Next, drill a 3/8'' -1/4'' deep countersink hole (depending on your deck board thickness).
3. Continue by driving your screws into the the countersubnk hole and into the joist below.
4. Add a small drop of wood glue into the countersunk hole. This will secure the plug from popping up and will act as a moisture barrier that seals the hole and screw.
5. Insert the plug. Be sure to first match the wood grain in the plug to the deck grain. This insures the plugs will blend in with the grain of the deck. Tap it down with a hammer for a snug fit
6. Let the glue dry, then complete with sanding to make sure all of your plugs are flush.
7. Complete the look with a nice deck finish like Ipe Oil
