The privacy lock works for both right and left handed doors. There is a thumb-turn button on the inside knob, by which you can lock the door inside. This privacy lock is pefect for bedroom/bathroom doors and doors requiring privacy.
The privacy lock does''t have the key and can not be locked outside. You can easily open it with a small regular screwdriver if it is locked inside.
The backset is adjustable between 2-3/8-Inch and 2-3/4-Inch. This lockset is made to fit doors between 1-3/8-Inch and 1-3/4-Inch thick.
