For clinical accuracy, the sensor scans the ear canal 12 times, then calculates and displays the temperature based on the average of those readings -- all in one second! The thermometer has electronic sensor controls for speed, accuracy, reliability and ease of use. A long single beep signals when the reading is ready, and a rapid beep and flashing indicate when the temperature reading is above 99.5 degrees.

Other features include on/off button, memory recall that displays the last recorded temperature, automatic shutoff to help preserve battery life, and extra-large display for easy readings.
