Instructions for Installing the Replacement Touch Screen of iPhone:

Things You´ll Need: SIM removal tool, Phillips jewelery screwdriver, Suction cup, Tweezers, pry stick, iPhone 3G touch screen digitizer

1. Turn off your iPhone, remove the SIM card from the top of the iPhone with the SIM removal tool, then use the Phillips jewelery screwdriver to remove the two screws surrounding the dock connector on the bottom of the iPhone.

2. Place a suction cup just above the home button on the face of the digitizer. Lift up on the suction cup to remove the LCD touch screen from the rest of the phone. Be careful as you lift it up, as there are a few cables running between the digitizer and the circuit board.

3. Lay the two panels side by side. Use the tweezer to unplug the two ribbon cables from the main board that are coming from the touch digitizer LCD screen display panel. Then unplug the ribbon cable that is under one of the two ribbon cables that have just been removed. Pull the LCD touch screen away from the rest of the phone.

4. Grasp the assembly, and loosen the Phillips screws on each side of the touch screen. The five screws on the side rails, three on the side with the flaps and two on the opposite side. The sixth screw is in the top right. These screws fasten the LCD screen to the assembly.

5. Insert your pry stick between the iPhone LCD and the touch screen digitizer. Move your pry stick around the perimeter of the LCD until you can grab it and lift it up.

6. Place the touch screen digitizer aside and put your replacement digitizer in its place. Place the LCD back into the digitizer and replace the six screws. Place the reassembled LCD and digitizer back into the main device housing, and be sure to re-attach the three cables you disconnected. Return the two screws the the bottom of the device and insert the SIM card into the opening at the top of the iPhone.
