Species: Cats, birds, reptiles, hamsters, gerbils, mice and other small mammals Specifications: There is a risk of gastrointestinal blockage if your pet ingests a sufficient amount of bedding. Observe and seek veterinary care if you suspect gastrointestinal blockage. Not intended for grazers such as tortoises. Instructions for Use: For hamsters, gerbils, mice, rabbits and similar pets: Spread 1 to 3 inches into the bottom of the cage and empty/replace weekly or as needed. Impaction and related problems are an inherent problem with any substrate. Seek veterinary care if your pet consumes large quantities of bedding. For birds: Spread a layer of bedding on the bottom of the nest box or brooder, adequate to cushion the size and type of bird you are raising. Change bedding as needed. While carefresh is non-toxic, as with any bedding material, birds may become impacted. Observation and management will minimize impaction problems. Treat impacted birds promptly. For reptiles: Line aquariums or displays with enough bedding to provide a solid footing. For cat litter: Ideal for post-operative care (for recovery from declaw surgery for example). Flush used carefresh Complete Bedding litter down the toilet (one scoop at a time), discard into the trash, or incinerate. Used cat litter of any kind should not be used in the garden. Be sure to wash hands thoroughly after handling used litter.
