Model description

The Star Wars Destroyer Droid (also known as Droideka or Rollies) models are amazingly detailed etched models that are fun and satisfying to assemble. Each model is made from a pair of completely flat laser-etched steel sheets.

The Destroyer Droid were a type of droid used by the Trade Federation during the Invasion of Naboo and， later， by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Destroyer Droid were dangerous and deadly， designed to exterminate their adversaries with extreme prejudice. They could transform their shape by curling into a ball and moving up to 75 kilometers per hour across a surface， or stand on three legs and utilize a shield generator while firing at a target.

The Destroyer Droid came equipped with numerous armaments， both defensive and offensive. In particular， Destroyers made use of twin blasters and personal deflector shield generators. A Destroyer's shields were so strong and powerful that they could easily repel or deflect short-range， high-velocity attacks; rendering sidearms or blasters ineffective. Short of an ion cannon， no form of ranged weapon had the power to penetrate or pierce a Destroyer's shield.
Although Destroyers were powerful， they were not without their flaws， in particular Rollies had two major weaknesses， which could be exploited in order to get a kill. Destroyers were blind from behind and their shields were ineffective against slow and stationary objects.

The Destroyer Droid appear in the original Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)， Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)， Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005).
