A multi-coat – also known as an antireflective coating – is a series of layers on the inside and outside surfaces of your glasses designed to minimize lens reflections, improve the clarity of your vision and protect the lenses. The surfaces of a glass or plastic lens can show up reflections that may hinder your vision. By using very thin multi-layered coatings, these reflections can be practically eliminated. Multi-coated lenses can be of great benefit while using a computer or for improving the contrast for night driving. They also let other people see your eyes more clearly, so are great for people in sales or lecturing, as sometimes lens reflections may mask your eyes.
