Product Description
Among cycling shoe manufacturers, few names have been as supportive of the wide-foot crowd as Lake. As evidence for this assertion, we present the Dutch firm's Wide line, which is the exact same as the standard shoes with an added "wide" designation. So cyclists with wider metatarsals and heels can enjoy about 15mm more width while still netting the benefits of kit like Lake's mid-range workhorse, the men's CX237 Wide Shoes. The key to the CX237s' power transfer lies in Lake's Competition last. Like the moldable CFC last used in the CX331, the Competition last is designed to focus your power output into the ball of your foot, and straight through to the pedal. And while efficiency is key, there's added room in the toe box to allow for foot expansion under hard efforts. It all rests on Lake's stiff Race carbon fiber sole. The result is a comfortable fit, packaged in a highly efficient shoe. The dual Boa closure has been quickly adopted by the professional ranks due to the fact that it offers easy fine-tuning, and it stays tight throughout your entire ride. And since you're able to independently adjust tension on the forefoot and the heel, you can lock down your heel, without having to over-tighten the rest of the shoe. As you probably know, that means better bloodflow and greater comfort. The Boa closure runs underneath the full-grain leather upper, enhanced with mesh panels to maximize foot-cooling airflow.
