The 214.5 screw eye size is for small projects. This screw eye has a short shank that is useful in small craft projects, the threaded area on the screw eye is only 1/4 inch in length. The sharp point will easily bite into wood. The thickness or wire diameter is only 1/16 inch so a pilot hole is typically not necessary and these can be hand screwed in or use an awl to make a starter hole.
