WHAT IS A TACTICAL PEN???
At its most basic level, a tactical pen is a writing instrument that is also designed to be used as a defensive weapon. Tactical pens are typically made of metal. Aircraft grade aluminum and titanium are frequently employed to make strong, lightweight tactical pens. One or both ends of a tactical pen is typically tapered to a point to allow for it to be used as a thrusting self-defense tool. Whereas a normal pen would bend or break if used in a defensive scenario a tactical pen is designed for tough use
WHY CARRY A TACTICAL PEN???
People carry tactical pens for many reasons. Some may just want a high-quality pen that looks good and is solidly built. The primary reason however is that they want a reliable self-defense tool that can be carried in plain sight. Law abiding Singaporeans will not carry a knife or other weapons in Singapore but that does not mean that Criminals won't. A tactical pen is more of an option for normal people. It can be both carried in Singapore and during Overseas Trips. With some basic training, this enables tactical pen users to protect themselves wherever they go.
Another reason is that many tactical pens are designed to be non-lethal and come with a blunt end that is intended to apply painful force to pressure points, sensitive areas, and other vulnerable locations on an attacker’s body. This is an appealing non-lethal self-defense option.
This pen in particular has 4 x tapered divots which are designed specifically to catch a sample of the attacker's DNA which can later be used in the attacker's capture and trial.
In Singapore, we live in a relatively safe environment but even as the Police warns us, that "Low Crime does not mean No Crime". There is still some Crime and Accidents do occur. We hope that you only use your pen as a fine writing instrument and never have to use your Tactical pen as a Defensive or as a lifesaving tool. However is it always better to be Safe than Sorry. The Tactical pen is a nice writing pen for your pocket, purse or bag but if the need ever arises, could help you or your loved ones get out of dangerous situations.
