I did not receive a contaminated batch and have not had negative experiences with Benton, but you should be aware that Benton still does not use "heavy duty" preservatives, which means their products are prone to spoilage faster than many other skincare products. Preservatives often get a bad rap, but they are, quite literally, the difference between putting a product on your face or putting a MOLDY product on your face. They are proven to be safe and effective. Products, like Benton's, that use "natural preservatives" or fewer preservatives should be handled with more care and inspected routinely for bacterial/mold growth. To that end, I keep all of my Benton products in the refrigerator to extend their (non-moldy) lives.With that said, I love this stream cream. This is a fairly thick, standard cream that contains snail mucin and bee venom, aimed at moisturization, healing blemishes, and reducing wrinkles. I have not noticed any difference in fine lines with this cream. However, I layer this on top of my other essences/serums/emulsions at night and I have found that it is a wonderful moisturizer and occlusive layer that can help speed the healing of acne blemishes. When I have a pimple that is in the healing phase, I swipe on some extra Steam Cream on top of it right before bed, and pat it in gently. Using theses have mostly cleared up my teenage daughter's acne, and has provided drastic improvement in her skin tone and texture. Over the past 3 years, I have spent thousands of dollars trying almost every product you can think of the clear her acne, between Clarisonic brush, Vbeam laser, antibiotic's, prescription topical treatments, dermatology consultations, facials, etc., (if you're dealing with acne you understand what I'm talking about). Anyways she's been using these masks after washing her face with a charcoal wash (Destiny Boutique Charcoal Facial Detox) every night, and will add a very light application of the MIZON snail mask in the evenings if she needs a little bit of moisturizer. It seems as though her acne has improved approximately 95% since starting this regimen about three weeks ago. She will develop a very small superficial random, pimple MAYBE every 2 weeks, but they go away in a day. The mask seems to reduce the postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, and this includes the residual redness and dark brown spots that occurred after her acne flared up. She's had no recurrence of cystic acne at all. It's pretty remarkable. I attribute the success to one of the ingredients that I have not seen in any other masks, which is Azealic acid. Azealic acid (a plant extract) is actually available by prescription as a very expensive cream. My daughter has actually used Azealic acid cream in the past, but at that concentration by prescription it actually created a lot of dryness and redness. So I think that the Azealic acid in the mask is probably at a lower concentration, or maybe just the hydration with the cream within the mask is more soothing. I think the combination of the Azaelic acid along with the Hyluronic acid allows it to penetrate just the right depths to kill the acne bacterium causing her outbreaks. Plus the Azaelic acid is known to be a skin brightening agent. Obviously every skin product is not perfect for everyone, but I suggest a trail of this mask, you may have great results too. ★★★★★ Love this mask! I follow a skin care regimen of western products which include BHA, niacinamide, vitamin C, retin A and loads of antioxidants. However, this mask is different! When I put it on last night, I had a little redness/breakout forming on my chin and after 30 mins of this mask, it was not only gone, but my skin was truly plumped! I was shocked because I was not expecting anything like that. I was just expecting moisturized skin.I am so glad I purchased this set, and will keep using it. I wondered quite a lot before purchasing because reviews were saying that the mask was on the dry side, without a lot of serum.
