It works and plays great. I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old grand daughter. Now she doesn't have to bug her mom while she is watching her programs. She had lots of DVDs that she can watch while laying on the floor or sitting on the sofa with her mom. It comes with a headphone that works well and the volume is plenty loud enough. She can also listen without the headphones which is what she does most of the time. So my daughter has her to lay on the floor away from her tv so the volume won't interfere with her watching tv. It is loud, so she does have to tell her a few times to turn the volume down when she is not using the headphones. The picture is very clear. It is easy to operate. My 3 1/2 year old grand daughter knows how to put the dvd in and out, adjust the volume and turn it on and off. I also purchased the 2 year warranty for $6. Please get that. She is able to position the screen so that it is easier to see it without hurting her neck; and the controls are easy for her to use by herself. The sound is good through the included headphones, but she usually uses her noise cancelling headphones. MORE Reasons why you should not buy this 1. Cheaply Made- accidently touch it while a movie is playing it skips-cheap cheap plastic 2. LOUD-when playing a DVD it makes a LOUD noise..(sounds like its going to blow up# 3. BATTERY IS TERRIBLE- our
