This is a fascinating flap book packed with interesting information about cars, from how the first automobiles were invented, to how speedy racing cars get around tracks.
Each of the seven double-page spreads have several flaps to lift, many with double flaps, and several of them also have fun paper technology such as sliding a race car or moving a car along a production line in a factory. Other spreads look inside a busy car repair shop, and a scrap yard where old cars get crushed.

"Seeing how her grandson was enjoying this book, my friend sent a copy to my grandson of the same age. Henry loves learning how cars work and how they are made. The only problem is that he wants to know even more, and is a bit frustrated that the book doesn't show every detail of the factory line, for example. We knew Henry could read a few words. One day, lifting the tabs, he started reading entire sentences, and now there's no stopping him. Apparently, the sentences under those tabs are both appealing and non-threatening in their contained way. Thanks, Usborne, for a great book! "We purchased this book for my four year old, who loves everything about space.
This book is one of his absolute favorites (along with a few other "fun flap" books). It is excellently written, with a different major topic on each pair of pages, such as "the Big Bang" and "Our Solar System." The level of explanation is excellent for any child ages 3-8: it's the edge of my son's comprehension. Also, lifting each flap lets the child explore more deeply into the specific topic, adding greatly to the child's intellectual development. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all of us who dream about the heavens!"
