Product Description
King Silk Art makes silk embroidery wall art, 100% hand-stitched by Master Artists in Suzhou, China. Our artwork, Susho, is completely natural, created with tiny needles and pure silk thread. Susho is a 2500 year old family tradition, with a unique and fascinating history.
This inspiration for this Susho® was Vincent van Gogh's Almond Blossoms, painted in the last year of his life. Van Gogh's inspiration was the birth of his namesake nephew, deciding to paint a gift for the new parents to hang over their bed. The uncharacteristic composition of this painting was meant to convey the joy of looking up at a clear blue sky through the beauty of flowering branches.
Van Gogh loved flowering trees, they represented awakening and hope. During his time in Arles, Van Gogh painted a series of blossoming fruit and nut trees, inspired by Japanese wood block prints, with similar artistic effects.
The original painting is in the permanent collection at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
